Ritualists after the update
So what's everyone going to try first?
Which elites caught your eye?
I've got a few builds in mind already but I'll let people post their ideas first.
Thanks anet for such a great update!

Well worth the wait, I say. The changes to PwK will make Ritualists, especially in PvE, much more of a viable option in a variety of different areas.
On a more serious note, I think Anet should transfer every single Rit skill to Spawning Power.

Ritualist specific? The only Rit skill that got changed is PwK; and Rits aren't flexible like Necros in that they can pick up random skills from other professions.

Well, I like the Summon Spirits update... Not that I'll play him over my Ranger or Elementalist or Monk... All are better at Support, Healing (except for Ranger, but he can tank) and Damage.
And don't even get me started about my Assassin.

Why did nerf castigation signet? Especially in pve, it's the only smiting e-management for god's sake, some of these nerfs that affect pve are pathetic.

Let's stay on-topic, please.
How do you all think they solved the Spawning Power problem?
I'm not quite convinced yet but I'll take my time to get used to it I guess.
It will be very interesting to see how the Ritualist builds are going to change after this.

2 skills change and Ritualists become more viable?
Uh... Not really. The PwK nerf didn't do THAT much to harm /Rt players using that skill, and Summon Spirits just makes not having to spam the same spirit over after every battle different (instead you can more easily bring your spirits with you every 5 seconds and move them out of AoE easier).
Need more buffs before my real interest in them returns. Until then, necro I shall stay, but Rit will always be in my heart. x)

2 changes (lousy ones... sorry...) and there is already a thread about this? >_< Rits need more PvE buffs before I start taking mine out again into the good 'ol explo areas of Guild Wars.

What? PwK was nerfed, and Summon Spirits is horrible anyway...

Is it me, or do a lot of the posters here need to adjust their sarcasm detector? Yeah this update did little to nothing for rits. However, I am curious as to WHY they would change summon spirits in the way they have. Going from a 10 sec recharge to a 10 sec recharge makes little to no difference... I never had much of a problem moving spirits around before. Dare I hope to think that this is a precursor to an upcoming buff to spirit based builds, and perhaps even spawning power itself??

Well I for one had lots of fun with all the new toys Anet has given us today.
I'm still exploring the possibilities and having a blast doing so!
Finally its actually desirable to play the class after 6 months of waiting!

The update is lame - still no buff to SP. In HM, your spirits will be instantly locked on to and destroyed in 3 seconds.
Summon Spirits needs to be +600 health - that would make spirits a force in PvE.

Kudos to you OP for making a troll thread with 9 (edit:10, one new one while I made this) other people having posted, including a mod, before somebody called you on it. I guess Bulldozer kinda did.
Anyway, just to give the topic some credibility, I personally love doing spirit spam on my Ritualist so a 5s recharging Summon Spirits will be dearly loved. I might even go back to my Signet of Ghostly Might build to get some uber spirits going.

Yeah really.
Like Enix said...spirits are a joke in HM.
Rits have such great potential...but until Anet shows them some love I don't think they can keep up with the big boys in HM. I'm not saying they are trash...I love mine, but I'd like to see the profession be a contender, not just a last resort 8th party slot filler.

I'd hate to see what you consider real harm, then. Essentially the healing power of PwK has been reduced by 40%. That seems pretty significant to me, and I expect it will have quite an effect on Discord teams.

And once again, Minion Bombing looks like the only viable build left for the Rit.

It's reassuring to see ArenaNet taking such great steps towards fixing Spawning Power and making spirits viable in HM PvE.

The point of summon spirits isn't just that it moves them, it also heals for quite a it if you have the rank to fuel it. It's useful for things like Wanderlust, displacement, Shelter, Union, ect Keeps them alive longer, lets you pull them away from enemies that 1 shot them. It's a pretty round about buff to the communing line, but it is. There's like 4 skills that I can think of that heal spirits, and this is now the most efficient one, better then the elite one with high enough rank.
